Before the remodel, the property had two separate houses that had been combined into one home, which resulted in an awkward floor plan. The same facility also provides short-term commodity storage. Flintco worked with St. Louis based Penta Industrial Corporation – the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner – to complete the multi-million dollar civil and mechanical packages, which included erection of the large EPC-furnished vessels and equipment. Flintco also self-performed construction of all underground mechanical, civil, above ground structural, process piping, and equipment installation. The Terminal project was completed in November 2020.

Joeris General Contractors led the retail development and site work for Embarcadero 9’s five-acre warehouse. The project was commissioned by Texan supermarket chain organization, HEB Grocery Company. Through a collaboration with architectural company Industrial Group, the firm delivered a state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution center that features 28 hydraulic and manual docking stations, an IT room that houses the facility’s networking equipment, admin offices, and shipping and receiving offices. The building is made of thick tilt wall panels, thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roof membrane, and concrete slab-on-grade floors supported by a perimeter grade beam footing.

Sabre Commercial worked with Deep Eddy Distillery to deliver the vodka company’s new production facility in Buda. In collaboration with Fuse Architecture Studio, the primary goal of the project was to convert a 120,000-square-foot warehouse to cater to the client’s functional and process demands. Part of the work was the interior remodel that accommodated new workspaces, test laboratories, a bar, bottling lines, and additional warehouse spaces. Structural upgrades also covered the installation of new roofing, insulation, and mechanical piping systems for the facility’s still, boilers, and chillers.

Structura Inc. led the construction of an 11,000 SF data center in Austin. One of the challenges of the project was to deliver the work within a five-month timeline while the data center remained operational 24/7. Another challenge was the client’s request to transform an old and obsolete currency security vault into a white space that covers a total of 4,000 square feet. The remaining 7,000 square feet were allotted for the facility’s workspaces, electrical rooms, tape library, and print room.

One of the firm’s most recent pieces of work is a boutique eyeglass store and optometrist office in Austin called Optique. ​​The light and bright character of Optique’s exterior seeks to differentiate the store and office from the dark windows of its neighboring shops. A custom steel and glass storefront frames the entry pivot door while a glass vitrine projects onto the sidewalk showcasing a curated selection of eyewear. Shoppers are drawn inside the store, thanks to the store sign being projected from inside to above the sidewalk. Minimal furniture decorates the store proper, while merchandise and storage line the walls and maximize the space. Wood and mirrored panels are set in place to create a backdrop for the merchandise. The panels also articulate a rhythm that frames the “lab,” where the process of fabricating lenses is put on display.

About LEVY

Headquartered in the heart of Austin, LEVY offers a full range of architecture and interior design services. The process requires meticulous planning and site analysis which factors in elements such as space, light, and surrounding context. Its craftsmanship for commercial and retail project types is best seen in its work for 6555 Burnet Road, pictured above. For this project, the firm’s team was tasked with revamping the plaza’s street presence. It now features a clean white façade with contrasting blue tile tower elements.

About Forge Craft Architecture + Design

Forge Craft offers a comprehensive range of services with a particular emphasis on architecture, interior design, industrial and product design, furniture design, exhibition design, and—as of late—private, and civic real estate development. The firm is led by its founders Scott Ginder and Rommel Sulit, both of whom draw inspiration from years of experience and a deep understanding of design and construction. Prior to their establishment of the firm, Ginder spent 14 years in the office of Dick Clark Architecture where he worked on designing small and mid-size commercial projects, multi-family, custom residential, affordable housing, restaurants, and retail space. Sulit, on the other hand, worked with several large firms and concentrated on designing large commercial ground-up buildings.

The featured project above was completed for Jack Ryan Fine Jewelry. Given that it was completed for a high-end luxury store that sells items such as watches, jewelry, and accessories, this project demanded the best of the firm’s abilities. The result was this minimalist detailed space reminiscent of a museum. Vitrines of Starfire glass and teak cases crafted by some of the area’s best craftsmen line its walls coupled with art from the project’s owner.
